Dr. Rahul Gupta joined Fortis Hospital, Noida, India, in July 2012 and has more than 22 years of experience. He trained at Government Medical College, Rohtak, completed his neurosurgery residency at PGIMER, Chandigarh, and then spent eight years as teaching faculty in neurosurgery at PGIMER and GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi. He has performed more than 10,000 neurosurgical procedures, with clinical interests in minimally invasive brain and spine surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, endovascular neurosurgery, complex brain tumour and neurovascular surgery, and paediatric neurosurgery. He received the Sugita Scholarship at Nagoya University, Japan, in 2011, trained in 5-ALA fluorescence-guided glioma surgery in Graz, Austria, and in functional neurosurgery in Amsterdam, and has published about 55 articles in national and international journals. His department performs 60 to 75 brain and spine procedures each month, about 70% of them by him, using awake craniotomy, neuronavigation, intraoperative fluorescence and pre-operative tumour embolisation.
