Indian Medical Visa for Benin Citizens
A Beninese patient can submit the e-Medical application online, or a regular medical visa application at the Indian mission. Both need the hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo obtains.

What does the visa cost?
The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical application, or paid at the Embassy for a regular visa.
How does the e-Medical visa work?
- On indianvisaonline.gov.in, the patient uploads the passport bio page and the hospital's letter.
- The decision takes about three working days and arrives by email as an Electronic Travel Authorization, which the patient shows at immigration in India.
Which documents does the Indian mission ask for?
- The online application form, printed, signed and fitted with a recent photograph
- The passport, valid for six months or more, and a copy of it
- The patient's local doctor or hospital in Benin supplies a referral letter and the medical reports
- The Indian hospital's invitation letter
- Proof that the treatment and stay are funded, such as a bank statement or a sponsor's letter
- For an attendant, proof of relationship with the patient
How long is the e-Medical visa valid?
The e-Medical visa is valid for 60 days from first arrival in India. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
