Which treatments do Bhutanese travel to India for?

The most common are heart bypass surgery, heart valve replacement, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, brain tumour surgery, spinal fixation, fibroid removal, radical hysterectomy, knee replacement and hip replacement, along with bone marrow, kidney and liver transplants.

What happens after the patient sends the reports?

Jivo shares the reports with multiple specialists at top hospitals in India. Each sends a written opinion with the treatment plan, expected stay, success rate and cost estimate in US dollars. Jivo then arranges video consultations with the Indian specialists the patient chooses, while the patient is still in Bhutan. After the patient picks a hospital, Jivo requests its admission letter naming the patient and any attendants, and supports the patient on the journey and stay in India. Entry to India takes no visa for a Bhutanese patient or for an attendant.

What do these procedures cost in India?
