What does the visa cost?

The Government of India sets the fee. It is paid at the Embassy of India in Ouagadougou with the application.

How does the application work?

  1. The patient completes the online application at indianvisaonline.gov.in.
  2. The patient submits the print-out at the Embassy in Ouagadougou and appears in person for biometrics. Children under 12 and adults over 70 are exempt.

Which documents does the Ouagadougou mission ask for?

  • A valid passport with at least six months' validity and two blank pages
  • Two recent passport-size photographs
  • The latest bank statement and proof of finance
  • A yellow fever vaccination certificate
  • Confirmation from the hospital or treatment centre in India
  • A reference from the local doctor or hospital
  • A return flight reservation

How long is the visa valid?

The medical visa is valid for the period of treatment, up to one year. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
