Indian Medical Visa for Djibouti Citizens

A Djiboutian patient can apply online for the e-Medical visa, or apply for a regular medical visa at the Embassy of India in Djibouti. Both need the hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo obtains.

What does the visa cost?

The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical application, or paid at the Embassy for a regular visa.

How does the e-Medical visa work?

  1. The patient files the application on indianvisaonline.gov.in with the passport bio page and the hospital's letter uploaded.
  2. The decision comes by email in about three working days as an Electronic Travel Authorization, which the patient presents at immigration in India.

What are the steps for a regular medical visa?

  1. The patient completes the online form on indianvisaonline.gov.in and prints it.
  2. The patient takes the printed form and the documents to the Embassy of India in Djibouti.

Which documents does the Embassy in Djibouti ask for?

  • Filled-in and signed visa application form
  • Two recent colour photographs
  • Letter of invitation from an approved hospital or doctor in India
  • Medical documents establishing the need for treatment in India
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement, salary certificate, sponsorship letter)
  • Tentative flight booking

How long is the e-Medical visa valid?

An e-Medical visa stays valid for 60 days from the day the patient arrives in India. When treatment outlasts the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
