Indian Medical Visa for Egyptian Citizens

Egyptian citizens apply for a regular medical visa, the paper visa that is submitted at the Indian mission. Egypt does not appear on the e-Visa country list, so Egyptian citizens cannot use the e-Medical visa.

Why is the e-Medical visa not available to Egyptians?

The e-Medical visa is open only to the nationalities on the e-Visa country list of the Government of India's visa portal, and Egypt is not on that list. A regular medical visa is available to every nationality, and it is the visa an Egyptian patient applies for.

What are the steps for a regular medical visa?

  1. Jivo obtains the Visa Invitation Letter from the chosen hospital; every Jivo partner hospital is FRRO-registered.
  2. The Egyptian patient fills in the form on indianvisaonline.gov.in and prints it for submission.
  3. The patient takes the printed form and the documents to the Indian mission.
  4. Jivo guides the patient through the application and helps to fill in the online form where the patient needs it.

What does the visa cost?

The visa fee is set by the Government of India and paid online with the application (or at the Indian mission for a paper visa); Jivo confirms the current fee with you before you apply.

How long is a regular medical visa valid?

The Indian mission decides the validity of a paper visa, so the travel dates follow the dates printed on the visa.

Which documents does the Indian mission require?

The document list for Egyptian applicants is set by the Indian mission in Egypt. Jivo confirms the current list with the patient before the application is filed.

What happens if treatment runs longer than the visa?

If treatment takes longer than the visa allows, the hospital and the Jivo team help the patient apply for an extension on the e-FRRO portal.
