Indian Medical Visa for Jordan Citizens
A Jordanian patient can apply online for the e-Medical visa, or apply for a regular medical visa at the Embassy of India in Amman. Both need the hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo obtains.

What does the visa cost?
The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical application, or paid at the Embassy for a regular visa.
How does the e-Medical visa work?
- The patient files the e-Medical form online at indianvisaonline.gov.in and uploads the hospital's invitation letter together with the photo page of the passport.
- The decision takes about three working days and arrives by email as an Electronic Travel Authorization, which the patient shows at immigration in India.
Which documents does the Embassy of India in Amman ask for?
- The printout of the online application form with the uploaded photograph, and one more photograph on a light background
- A passport valid for six months, with a copy
- For non-Jordanians, proof of more than two years' residence in Jordan and a copy of the residence permit
- The hospital's invitation letter on its letterhead, stating the patient's name, passport details and accompanying attendants
- The latest original prescription or report from the patient's doctor in Jordan, in English or with an English translation
- Proof of sufficient funds for the stay, including the treatment costs
Which visa suits which patient?
The e-Medical visa suits a patient who wants to apply from home: it is requested online, needs no visit to the Embassy and allows more than one entry within its 60 days. A patient who prefers to hand in the printed form and documents in person applies for the regular visa at the Embassy of India in Amman. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
