Which treatments do Nepalis travel to India for?
The most common are heart bypass surgery, heart valve replacement, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, brain tumour surgery, spinal fixation, fibroid removal, radical hysterectomy, knee replacement and hip replacement, along with bone marrow, kidney and liver transplants.
What happens after the patient sends the reports?
Jivo shares the reports with multiple specialists at top hospitals in India. Each sends a written opinion with the treatment plan, expected stay, success rate and cost estimate in US dollars. Jivo then arranges video consultations with the Indian specialists the patient chooses, while the patient is still in Nepal. When the patient has chosen a hospital, Jivo gets the admission letter that lists the patient and attendants, and stays with the patient through the journey and stay in India. A Nepali citizen needs no visa, and nor does an attendant.
