Indian Medical Visa for Oman Citizens
An Omani patient can apply online for the e-Medical visa, or apply for a regular medical visa at the Embassy of India in Muscat, whose applications are taken by an outsourced application centre. Both need the hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo obtains.

What does the visa cost?
The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical application, or paid at the Embassy for a regular visa.
How does the e-Medical visa work?
- The patient applies at indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa, uploading the passport bio page and the hospital's letter.
- The decision takes about three working days and arrives by email as an Electronic Travel Authorization, which the patient shows on arrival at immigration in India.
Which documents does the Embassy of India in Muscat ask for?
- A local medical report issued within the last six months
- Confirmation of the consultation or appointment at the Indian hospital, with the visa request letter
- The Indian hospital's appointment confirmation and visa invitation letter
Which visa suits which patient?
Patients comfortable applying online can take the e-Medical visa, which runs for 60 days from first arrival in India with multiple entries inside that period. The regular medical visa, issued for up to six months or up to one year, is applied for through the outsourced centre for the Embassy in Muscat. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
