Indian Medical Visa for Russia Citizens
A Russian patient can apply online for the e-Medical visa, or apply for a regular medical visa at the Embassy of India in Moscow. Both need the hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo obtains.

What does the visa cost?
The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical application, or paid at the Embassy for a regular visa.
How does the e-Medical visa work?
- Applications go through indianvisaonline.gov.in, where the patient uploads the hospital's letter and the passport bio page.
- The decision takes about three working days and arrives by email as an Electronic Travel Authorization, which the patient shows at immigration in India.
Which documents does the Embassy of India in Moscow ask for?
- The online application form, printed and signed, with a recent photograph
- The passport, valid for at least six months, with a copy
- A referral letter and medical reports from the patient's doctor or hospital in Russia
- The Indian hospital's invitation letter
- Proof of funds for the treatment and stay, such as a bank statement or a sponsor's letter
- For an attendant, proof of relationship with the patient
Which visa suits which patient?
The e-Medical visa is valid for 60 days from first arrival in India. It is issued without any visit to the Embassy. A regular visa is different: its validity starts on the day it is issued, and the Embassy determines the duration and the entries. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
