What does the visa cost?

The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical application, or paid at the Embassy for a regular visa.

How does the e-Medical visa work?

1. On indianvisaonline.gov.in, the Senegalese patient fills in the form and attaches a scan of the passport bio page with the hospital's letter.
2. The decision takes about three working days and arrives by email as an Electronic Travel Authorization, which the patient shows at immigration in India.

What are the steps for a regular medical visa?

1. The patient completes the online form on indianvisaonline.gov.in and prints it.
2. The patient takes the printed form and the documents to the Embassy of India in Dakar.

Which documents does the Embassy in Dakar ask for?

A regular medical visa from the Embassy of India in Dakar needs:

• a copy of the current passport and the completed application form
• a copy of the residence permit or national identity card
• copies of current bank statements and of the flight booking
• proof of the visa payment
• a copy of the valid yellow fever vaccination card
• the latest recommendation letter from the treating doctor or hospital, stating that the patient needs emergent medical attention abroad
• the invitation or appointment letter from the doctor or hospital in India

How long does the e-Medical visa last?

Validity runs for 60 days from the day the patient arrives in India. Biometrics are captured at Indian immigration on arrival. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
