Indian Medical Visa for Ukraine Citizens

A Ukrainian patient can apply online for the e-Medical visa, or apply for a regular medical visa at the Embassy of India in Kyiv. Both need the hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo obtains.

What does the visa cost?

The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical application, or paid at the Embassy for a regular visa.

How does the e-Medical visa work?

  1. The patient applies at indianvisaonline.gov.in with an upload of the passport bio page and the hospital's letter.
  2. The decision takes about three working days and arrives by email as an Electronic Travel Authorization, which the patient shows at immigration in India.

Which documents does the Embassy of India in Kyiv ask for?

  • The regular visa application form, with the medical visa category
  • The foreign passport, with a copy
  • A medical conclusion with the diagnosis, translated into English
  • The Indian hospital's invitation letter stating the cost of treatment
  • A bank statement proving funds for self-funded patients, or a letter from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine where the Ministry pays
  • A copy of the internal passport

Which visa suits which patient?

The e-Medical visa is valid for 60 days from first arrival in India. The patient need not visit the Embassy to obtain it. On a regular visa, the Embassy decides the duration and number of entries, and the clock starts on the issue date. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
