Indian Medical Visa for Afghanistan Citizens

Afghanistan is not on the e-Visa list. Afghan nationals apply online for the Medical Visa on the Government of India's dedicated Afghan portal. The hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo arranges, go with the application.

How does the Medical Visa application work?

  1. Jivo arranges the invitation letter with the partner hospital, which generates it in its own system.
  2. The patient applies at indianvisaonline.gov.in/avisa, uploading the passport page and the Tazkira.

What does the visa cost?

The Government of India sets the fee.

Which documents does the Afghan portal ask for?

  • A copy of the passport page with personal particulars
  • The National ID Card (Tazkira)
  • The system-generated medical invitation letter from the Indian hospital
  • For an applicant under eighteen, a consent letter signed by a parent
  • Proof of residence in Afghanistan and proof of occupation, both optional

How long is the Medical Visa valid?

The Medical Visa allows three entries and lasts two months. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
