Indian Medical Visa for Angola Citizens
An Angolan patient chooses between the e-Medical visa, which is handled online without any visit to the Embassy, and a regular medical visa from the Embassy of India in Luanda.

Jivo obtains the Visa Invitation Letter from the chosen hospital; every Jivo partner hospital is FRRO-registered.
Which medical visas can Angolan citizens apply for?
Angola is on the Government of India's e-Visa list, and the Embassy in Luanda does not issue e-Visas itself. The regular medical visa is a paper visa, open to every nationality. The e-Medical visa is valid for two months (60 days), counted from arrival in India.
What does the visa cost?
The visa fee is set by the Government of India and paid online with the application (or at the Indian mission for a paper visa); Jivo confirms the current fee with you before you apply.
How does the e-Medical visa work?
- Angolan applicants complete the e-Medical form on indianvisaonline.gov.in.
- They upload the passport bio page together with the hospital's letter on its letterhead, showing the date or tentative date of admission.
- The e-Visa is delivered by email.
Which documents does the Luanda Embassy ask for?
- The online application form, filled in, with the uploaded picture
- Two recent photographs, 5 cm by 5 cm
- A passport valid for at least 180 days, with two blank pages
- The original yellow fever vaccination certificate and a copy
- A reference letter from a recognised doctor or hospital in Angola, with a medical certificate
- A signed and stamped invitation or appointment letter from the hospital in India, also emailed to the Embassy
- The applicant's or the sponsor's bank statement
The Embassy decides the duration and the number of entries of a regular visa, and its validity runs from the date of issue.
Which visa suits which patient?
A patient who prefers to avoid the Embassy uses the e-Medical visa. A patient who applies for a regular visa takes the form and the documents above to the Embassy in Luanda.
If treatment takes longer than the visa allows, the hospital and the Jivo team help the patient apply for an extension on the e-FRRO portal.
