Indian Medical Visa for Cameroonian Citizens

A Cameroonian patient can apply online for the e-Medical visa, or apply for a regular medical visa at the Indian mission. Both need the hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo obtains.

What does the visa cost?

The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical application, or paid at the mission for a regular visa.

How does the e-Medical visa work?

  1. The patient applies on indianvisaonline.gov.in between 120 and 4 days before arrival, uploading the passport bio page and the hospital's letter.
  2. The decision takes about three working days and arrives by email as an Electronic Travel Authorization, which the patient shows at immigration in India.

What are the steps for a regular medical visa?

  1. The patient completes the online form on indianvisaonline.gov.in and prints it.
  2. The patient takes the printed form and the documents to the Indian mission.

Which documents does the Indian mission ask for?

  • The online application form, printed and signed, with a recent photograph
  • The passport, valid for at least six months, with a copy
  • A referral letter and medical reports from the patient's doctor or hospital in Cameroon
  • The Indian hospital's invitation letter
  • Proof of funds for the treatment and stay, such as a bank statement or a sponsor's letter
  • For an attendant, proof of relationship with the patient

How long does the e-Medical visa last?

The e-Medical visa is valid for 60 days from first arrival in India and allows more than one entry. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
