Indian Medical Visa for Central African Republic Citizens

At the Embassy of India in Kinshasa, a Central African patient applies on paper for a regular medical visa. The Central African Republic is not on the e-Visa list, so citizens are not eligible for the e-Medical visa. The application includes the hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo obtains.

What does the visa cost?

The Government of India sets the fee. It is paid in cash at the Embassy counter in Kinshasa.

How does the regular medical visa work?

The patient completes the application online on indianvisaonline.gov.in.

Which documents does the Embassy of India in Kinshasa ask for?

  • Medical reports in English, or a reference from the hospital or doctor, that establish the need for treatment in India
  • Sufficient funds shown by a bank statement, a salary certificate or a sponsorship letter
  • A letter of admission from a recognised hospital or doctor in India
  • A reservation for accommodation, or a flight reservation

How long is the regular medical visa valid?

A regular medical visa from the Embassy runs for up to six months, or up to one year, counted from its date of issue. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
