Indian Medical Visa for Equatorial Guinea Citizens

An Equatorial Guinean patient can apply online for the e-Medical visa, or apply for a regular medical visa at the Embassy of India in Malabo. Both need the hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo obtains.

What does the visa cost?

The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical application, or paid at the Embassy of India in Malabo for a regular visa.

How does the e-Medical visa work?

  1. The patient uploads the passport bio page and hospital letter online.
  2. The decision takes about three working days and arrives by email as an Electronic Travel Authorization, which the patient shows at immigration in India.

Which documents does the Embassy of India in Malabo ask for?

  • The online application form, printed and signed
  • Two recent passport-size photographs
  • The passport, valid for at least six months
  • A flight reservation
  • The latest bank statement
  • A yellow fever vaccination certificate
  • Confirmation from a recognised hospital in India, also emailed to the Embassy
  • A reference from the local doctor or hospital that referred the patient

Which visa suits which patient?

The e-Medical visa is valid for 60 days from first arrival in India and needs no visit to the Embassy. A regular visa lasts as long as the treatment, for at most one year, and the Embassy normally issues it within 48 hours. Applicants for a regular visa are advised to give their biometrics when they submit. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
