Why does the attendant not apply online?
Ethiopia is not on the portal's e-Visa country list, so the e-Medical Attendant visa is not available to Ethiopian citizens. The attendant completes the online form, prints it and submits it at the Embassy with the documents.
What does the attendant submit?
The Embassy's list for a Medical or Medical Attendant visa asks for the signed hard copy of the application form, a photograph, the original passport, the vaccination card, the Visa Invitation Letter from the hospital, a bank statement and a signed undertaking in the prescribed format. The undertaking is the same one the Embassy asks for with a Medical visa.
What does it cost?
The visa fee is set by the Government of India and paid online with the application (or at the Indian mission for a paper visa); Jivo confirms the current fee with you before you apply.
How many attendants may accompany the patient?
The Embassy's pages do not set a number, so Jivo confirms with the Embassy how many attendants it will accept for the patient's case before the family books the appointment.
Which letters travel with the application?
The Indian hospital generates the Visa Invitation Letter through the Medical and Ayush Visa Portal; Jivo arranges it with the hospital. The partner hospital is FRRO-registered like every Jivo partner hospital, and the attendant's file carries the same documents as the patient's.
How does the attendant reach Delhi?
Ethiopian Airlines flies Addis Ababa to Delhi non-stop in about 6 hours 30 minutes. The patient's own application is in the medical visa guide, and the travel and stay guide has the other routes.
