How does an attendant apply?
Iranian attendants do not qualify for the e-Medical Attendant visa. An attendant of a patient granted a medical visa receives a medical attendant visa, valid for the same period as the patient's visa or for a shorter one. Each attendant applies at the Indian Consular Application Centre in Tehran or Mashhad, as the patient does.
What does the attendant pay?
The Government of India sets the fee. It is paid with the application at the Indian Consular Application Centre.
How do the invitation letters work for attendants?
The hospital issues two invitation letters: one on its letterhead, addressed to the Embassy of India in Tehran, and one generated on the FRRO system. Both list each attendant with the patient, by name, passport number and relationship. Jivo needs each attendant's passport details to request them.
