Indian Medical Visa for Qatar Citizens
A Qatari patient can apply online for the e-Medical visa, or apply for a regular medical visa at the Embassy of India in Doha. Both need the hospital's invitation letters, which Jivo obtains.

What does the visa cost?
The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical application, or paid at the Embassy for a regular visa.
How does the e-Medical visa work?
- The patient fills in the e-Medical application on indianvisaonline.gov.in and uploads the passport photo page together with the hospital's letter.
- The decision takes about three working days. It reaches the patient by email as an Electronic Travel Authorization, to be shown at immigration in India.
What are the steps for a regular medical visa?
- The patient registers the application online, then prints and signs it.
- The patient submits the signed form in person at the Embassy of India in Doha, with the documents.
Which documents does the Embassy of India in Doha ask for?
- The online application form, printed and signed
- The original passport, valid for at least six months beyond the visa's validity and with two blank pages, plus a copy of the photo page
- A copy of the QID or work permit
- Two recent passport photographs on a white background
- A letter from the patient's doctor, or a diagnostic report, recommending treatment in India
- A diagnostic or consultation report from a hospital in Qatar
- The bank statements of the last three months
- A flight reservation
- The Indian hospital's letter of admission
- For patients who are not Qatari nationals, a letter from their sponsor
Which visa suits which patient?
Patients who prefer not to visit the Embassy should choose the e-Medical visa, which lasts 60 days from the first day in India and permits repeated entry. For Qatari nationals, a regular medical visa is issued for up to six months with single or multiple entry, and can be extended up to one year on medical advice. If treatment runs longer than the visa, the hospital and Jivo help the patient extend it on the e-FRRO portal.
