How does an attendant apply online?
Attendants apply individually through the visa portal, each uploading a passport bio page. The portal allows no more than two e-Medical Attendant visas for each e-Medical visa. Once approved, the e-Visa reaches the attendant by email for presentation at immigration in India.
What does the attendant pay?
The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical Attendant application, or paid at the High Commission for a regular visa.
What does the Colombo mission require?
The Indian hospital's appointment letter must name the patient and each attendant, with passport numbers, the ailment and the expected duration. The High Commission allows a maximum of two attendants per patient.
How do the invitation letters work for attendants?
The hospital issues two invitation letters: one on its letterhead, addressed to the Indian mission, and one generated on the FRRO system. Both list each attendant with the patient, by name, passport number and relationship. Jivo needs each attendant's passport details to request them.
