How does an attendant apply online?

Every attendant submits an individual application on indianvisaonline.gov.in, uploading the passport bio page and entering an email address that works. Requests for new uploads and the decision go to that address, and the decision comes in about three working days. At immigration in India, the attendant presents the Electronic Travel Authorization.

What does the attendant pay?

The Government of India sets the fee. It is shown and paid online during an e-Medical Attendant application, or paid at the Indian mission for a regular visa.

What do the Indian missions require for an attendant?

A regular attendant visa needs a document proving the relationship with the patient, and the attendant must be named in the Indian hospital's letter.

How do the invitation letters work for attendants?

The hospital issues two invitation letters: one on its letterhead, addressed to the Indian mission, and one generated on the FRRO system. Both list each attendant with the patient, by name, passport number and relationship. Jivo needs each attendant's passport details to request them.
