Medical Attendant Visa and Invitation Letter for Zimbabwe

A Zimbabwean patient can be accompanied by up to two attendants, each holding an e-Medical Attendant visa. The partner hospital, which is FRRO-registered like every Jivo partner hospital, issues the Visa Invitation Letter, and Jivo arranges it with the hospital for every patient.

How many attendants may travel?

One e-Medical visa supports up to two e-Medical Attendant visas on the portal. Zimbabwe is on the e-Visa list, so each attendant can apply online.

What does an attendant send?

Each attendant files a separate application on the portal with the scanned bio page of the passport.

What does the attendant pay?

The visa fee is set by the Government of India and paid online with the application (or at the Indian mission for a paper visa); Jivo confirms the current fee with you before you apply.

What if the family applies at the Embassy instead?

For a regular medical visa the Embassy of India in Harare asks for the Indian hospital's letter naming both patient and attendant, which the hospital also mails to the Embassy, and for proof of the attendant's relationship to the patient. The attendant then attends in person for biometric enrolment.

Which letter supports the file?

The hospital letter on letterhead is the document the portal asks for. The partner hospital, which is FRRO-registered like every Jivo partner hospital, issues the Visa Invitation Letter, and Jivo arranges it with the hospital for every patient.

How long is the attendant's visa valid?

Sixty days from first arrival in India, with the passport stamped for each entry within that period.

How does an attendant fly to Delhi?

No airline flies Harare to Delhi non-stop. A one-stop journey takes about 14 to 19.5 hours. The travel and stay guide gives the routes, and the medical visa guide covers the patient's own application.
