Which treatments do Rwandans travel to India for?

Kidney transplantation, radiotherapy for cancer and paediatric heart surgery are the procedures for which Rwandan patients have travelled to India. Jivo has hospital estimates for each of them.

How does a Rwandan patient start?

A Rwandan patient begins by sharing reports with Jivo on WhatsApp. Jivo prepares the case file, several specialists review it and give their opinions, and Jivo organises the consultations. The hospital then sends its estimate.

Once the patient chooses a hospital, Jivo obtains the Visa Invitation Letter from it and assists with the visa application. Every Jivo partner hospital is FRRO-registered. Rwandan patients have two types of medical visa to choose from. The e-Medical visa is completed online, and the regular medical visa is a paper visa issued at the High Commission of India in Kigali. Attendants apply for a medical attendant visa. When the visa is granted, the patient books the flight, and Jivo meets the patient at the airport in New Delhi and assigns a case manager and a hospital coordinator.
