Current restriction, as of 20 October 2026

Ebola-related visa restrictions currently apply to South Sudan. Jivo checks the current position with the Embassy of India in Juba before any application is filed. South Sudanese patients apply for the regular medical visa at the Embassy, and Jivo arranges the hospital's invitation letters with the partner hospital.

Who can travel as an attendant?

The Embassy grants the medical attendant visa to the spouse, children or blood relatives of the patient.

What does the attendant pay?

The Government of India sets the fee. Attendants pay the same fee as the patient, in the same way.

How do the invitation letters work for attendants?

The hospital issues two invitation letters: one on its letterhead, addressed to the Indian mission, and one generated on the FRRO system. Both list each attendant with the patient, by name, passport number and relationship. Jivo needs each attendant's passport details to request them.
