How many attendants can a Tanzanian patient bring?
Two at most. One e-Medical visa carries up to two e-Medical Attendant visas, and the visa is open to Tanzanians. Each attendant applies on the e-visa portal in their own name, and the scanned passport bio page is the only document.
How does an attendant apply?
- Apply for the e-Medical Attendant visa on the portal, in the same 120-day to 4-day window as the patient.
- Upload the scanned passport bio page and nothing else.
- Carry the Electronic Travel Authorization to the immigration checkpoint in India.
What if the portal asks for a document again?
Re-upload requests are normally emailed within 24 hours of submission. The outcome, Granted or Rejected, is emailed too, and for a Tanzanian attendant the Electronic Travel Authorization comes the same way.
What does an attendant pay?
The visa fee is set by the Government of India and paid online with the application (or at the Indian mission for a paper visa); Jivo confirms the current fee with you before you apply.
What changes if the attendant applies in person?
The High Commission of India in Dar es Salaam handles regular visas through the online form and an appointment, with biometrics captured at the mission. It counts the validity of all visas from the date of issue. No document list for medical attendants is published on the mission page; Jivo asks the mission what an attendant must submit before filing on this route.
How does the Visa Invitation Letter reach an attendant's file?
The invitation letter is issued by a partner hospital, and each partner hospital is FRRO-registered. For the patient, Jivo arranges the Visa Invitation Letter with that hospital.
The patient's own steps are in the Tanzanian medical visa guide, the route from Dar es Salaam in the travel and stay guide, and the order of steps in the process for patients.
