Is there a direct flight from Dar es Salaam to Delhi?

No. Dodoma is the capital, but Delhi routes leave from Dar es Salaam (DAR), and every one connects: via Addis Ababa with Ethiopian, via Mumbai with IndiGo, via Doha with Qatar Airways, or via Dubai with flydubai.

Who books the flight?

The patient books the flight with the airline or a local agent once the visa is granted.

How does the hospital date fit with the flight?

Jivo organises the hospital appointment in advance and guides medical passengers on the airline's fit-to-fly requirements, so that approval comes in time.

What is waiting at the airport in Delhi?

Jivo organises the airport pickup and offers budget accommodation options near the hospital, with their costs.

How long does a Tanzanian patient stay in India?

A CABG patient should plan on three to four weeks, an aortic valve replacement patient on two to three weeks, and a kidney transplant patient on eight to ten. Matched sibling or family donor BMT takes three to four months. These ranges are guidelines, rarely exact, and the specialist confirms each patient's expected stay.

Who is with the patient during treatment?

In India, a Jivo case manager and a counterpart from the hospital team coordinate the day-to-day treatment steps and the patient's well-being, so someone is always with the patient.

What are the money rules for a Tanzanian traveller?

Under the Foreign Exchange Regulations 2022, a person entering or leaving the country with foreign currency above ten thousand US dollars or its equivalent must declare it to Customs. For travel abroad, a resident may buy up to ten thousand US dollars of foreign exchange from a bank, financial institution or bureau de change on showing residency and valid travel documents.

Before departure, the Jivo team shares a pre-travel checklist with each patient, including the expected weather in Delhi for the travel dates.
