What are the complications associated with these procedures?

Asked by Dr. Al Mustafa Nuruin

Our procedures are very safe. They are day-care procedures, and the rate of complication is less than 1 in 1,000. In our clinical practice we have never seen a serious complication. The most common complications would be bleeding, infection or nerve injury. If the needle is close to an organ, for example during sympathectomy, there can be injury to that organ, such as the lung or the liver. But the chances of these complications are very rare.

How affordable are these procedures?

Asked by Dr. Al Mustafa Nuruin

All the nerve blocks and neurolysis procedures are around US$800 to US$900, and the radiofrequency ablations vary from US$2,200 to US$4,500, depending on the area and the procedure. The advanced procedures, the intrathecal pump and the spinal cord stimulator, are costly. Barring those two procedures, most of our procedures can be done within US$2,200 to US$3,000.
