Why do Ghanaians look to India for transplants and cancer care?

Kidney transplantation, liver transplantation and cancer care are among the main reasons Ghanaians seek treatment abroad. A Ghanaian patient who needs a liver transplant has to travel for it, and India is one of the destinations.

Liver transplant has the broadest specialist coverage in Jivo's masterclass record. How does a Ghanaian patient reach the hospital?

Ghanaians are eligible for the Government of India's e-Visa, and e-Medical is one of its categories, so the application is made online and the e-visa arrives by email. Sharing reports on WhatsApp starts the process; a named Indian specialist then gives an opinion, and an estimate in US dollars comes from the hospital.
