Medical Attendant Visa and Invitation Letter for Ghana
Each Ghanaian attendant files a separate e-Medical Attendant application online, with the passport bio page as the only document. The hospital letter and the Visa Invitation Letter belong to the patient's application.

How many attendants can a Ghanaian patient bring?
Up to two. A single e-Medical visa can be matched by up to two attendant visas, and each attendant files a separate application with the passport bio page as the only document.
What does an attendant pay?
The visa fee is set by the Government of India and paid online with the application (or at the Indian mission for a paper visa); Jivo confirms the current fee with you before you apply.
What does each attendant do?
- Apply on the e-visa portal for the e-Medical Attendant visa, inside the same window as the patient: at least 4 days ahead and no more than 120.
- Upload the passport bio page. The attendant uploads no hospital letter.
- Show the Electronic Travel Authorization at the immigration checkpoint in India.
What if the portal asks for a document again?
A re-upload request arrives by email, normally within 24 hours of the application being submitted, and the outcome, Granted or Rejected, follows in the same way. Ghanaian attendants should check the inbox the patient uses, since the family often shares one.
Where does the Visa Invitation Letter fit?
The partner hospital's letter names the patient, and each partner hospital is FRRO-registered. For every patient Jivo arranges a Visa Invitation Letter with that hospital. The letter travels with the patient's application, while the attendant's application needs only the passport page.
What if the e-visa route does not suit?
The High Commission of India in Accra issues a regular medical attendant visa on the same track as the patient's regular visa. The Accra page asks for a hospital confirmation letter sent directly to the mission, a local reference letter and a bank statement.
The patient's own sequence is set out in the Ghanaian medical visa guide. Flights from Accra are covered in the travel and stay guide, and the process for patients shows when each document is needed.
