How many attendants can travel with a Zambian patient?
The portal attaches up to two e-Medical Attendant visas to a single e-Medical visa. As Zambia is on the e-Visa list, Zambian attendants apply online.
How does an attendant apply?
Every attendant files a separate application on the same portal and uploads a scanned bio page of the passport.
The portal's timing rules apply to each attendant's application: at least 4 days before arrival, within a window of up to 120 days, with the outcome emailed.
What does the attendant pay?
The visa fee is set by the Government of India and paid online with the application (or at the Indian mission for a paper visa); Jivo confirms the current fee with you before you apply.
How long does an attendant's visa last?
The e-Medical Attendant visa is valid for 60 days after the day of first arrival in India; multiple entries in that period are allowed.
How does the attendant enter India?
The e-Medical Attendant visa is an e-Visa like the patient's. The Electronic Travel Authorisation reaches the attendant by email, and the attendant shows it at the immigration checkpoint on arrival in India, together with the passport and the travel plan the hospital has set.
How does the attendant reach Delhi?
No airline flies Lusaka to Delhi non-stop. The journey takes about 19 hours with one stop. An attendant books their own flight with the airline or a local agent once the visa is granted, and Jivo organises the airport pickup in Delhi. The travel and stay guide has the routes.
